A while back on my old blog on the old bobbypantuso.com I blogged about Madison and Waukesha testing LED streetlights. I began a dialog with Bill Kappel, Wauwatosa's Director of Public works about the possibility for Wauwatosa and he indicated that there would be a few test sites in Wauwatosa to try it out. Last night I left City Hall via Rozmus (I normally exit via Wauwatosa Ave) and noticed the distinct white light luminescence of an LED. Sure enough the street light on the corner of Rozmus and North Ave is an LED. It does a great job of lighting up the area, I would be interested to know what the neighbors think. Check it out for yourself and give me your feedback. Energy savings is a subject near and dear to me and I have promised to look for ways to cut costs in this area.
If you would like to see outdoor LEDS on a larger scale go to the parking lot at 11100 West Plank Court. I have been there and taken photographs. This is an excellent example of how effective LEDs can be utilized for outdoor lighting.
